Square Meal review of Terra Restaurant:
High prices are a curse of many a hotel restaurant, so it’s refreshing to find that Terra’s starters average around £5 & main courses begin at under a tenner. Dishes are plucked from around the world, from a terrine of goats’ cheese with beetroot & bacon to chicken makhani curry or a simply grilled sirloin steak. Catering mainly to business people visiting the Excel exhibition centre nearby, Terra’s dining room combines splashes of primary colour with floor-to-ceiling windows & blond wood floors. Bottles on the concise list of global wines hover around £18 with a ‘connoisseur selection’ touting slightly more expensive options. For drinks & nibbles, visit the Isle Bar (see separate review).
