The Burlington Arms

Hucksters, pickpockets & conmen beware! The Burlington Arms is across the street from West End Central police station. Smart, clean, comfortable, well run, bright & welcoming, this traditionally styled tavern offers a very decent range of well-kept ales, but if wine is your thing, £15 pays for a perfectly potable Spanish red or white & there’s good Burgundy to be had for under £30. Food served in the bar or upstairs dining room covers anything from Scotch eggs, chunky sandwiches, charcuterie platters & fish fingers to bangers & beer-battered fish & chips, a trio of puds & assorted daily specials. The Burlington’s populist assets also run to Wi-Fi, an open fire & TV screens showing big sporting occasions. All that’s left is to sort out the bill.
