Named after naval hero Phillip Durell, this huge Fulham pub keeps ’em coming in their droves. It’s not hard to see why. Easy-going staff & grand Victorian interiors combined with good grub, plasma TVs & even the odd DJ appearance make it hard to want for anything more. A robust wine selection & decent choice of cocktails wash down a large, varied menu. Thai fishcakes or charcuterie with pickles might be followed by pan-fried halibut with new potatoes or roast pork belly with apricots. Big weekend brunches, smart weekday sandwiches, & tapas-sized bar bites fill in any possible gaps, while Sunday night movies (with free popcorn) & Thursday acoustic nights offer additional thrills.
