Square Meal review of Locanda Ottoemezzo:
It might not have the same high profile as Giorgio Locatelli’s Locanda but this Kensington local is equally busy most nights. It’s no surprise: the look of the place is immediately enticing, from the projector screening arthouse films on the wall to the comfy banquettes lining the walls. The menu – from two Italians who also own the deli two doors down & Cafe Ottoemezzo in Bayswater – offers a range of deftly executed dishes. Tomatoes cooked with oranges add a zesty touch to the accompanying buffalo mozzarella drizzled in pesto, while fresh, robust tuna tartare drizzled with a creamy mango & chilli dressing sits on a bed of peppery rocket. To follow is a short selection of pastas & mains – beef in a crust of salt, thyme & rosemary was cooked to tender perfection, while, to finish, pannacotta bathed in a peach, Champagne & strawberry sauce is a delight.
