Square Meal review of The Devonshire Arms:
In this pricey postcode, The Devonshire might so easily have been converted into flats, but thankfully it has been spruced up & turned into a modern-style pub that retains all the best bits (elegant picture windows, gorgeous dark wood bar, etched glass) with obligatory new-old additions in the shape of chandeliers, butcher’s block tables, 1950s units & slouchy couches. Outside there’s a shaded garden terrace that hosts summer barbies, otherwise food is of the sun-dried, drizzled & rocket-garnished variety. There’s Leffe, Hoegaarden & Grolsch, guest ales & a reasonable Old & New World wine selection, although more by-the-glass choice wouldn’t go amiss. On the downside, we’ve had reports that service & attitude might also benefit from a makeover.
