The Duke's Head

Food is not the main issue at this comfortable pub. Divided from the riverbank only by a very quiet road, it’s one of the most popular places to gather for an after-work or weekend drink. To that end there are plenty of well-kept ales & beers on tap. The main riverside room has recently been opened out into a dining room, offering a lovely view whatever the weather. The kitchen serves up proper pub grub – sausage & mash, steak & kidney pie, sharing boards – but does so reasonably well. A cream tea extends from noon to 5pm. The service from Sloaney girls suits the clientele down to a T.
