Angeles is just a few metres from Kilburn tube station & most people who walk past notice the ‘all you can eat buffet’ sign in the window. If you turn left on entry that’s what you’ll get & it’s very average Cantonese fare. But turn right & you’ll find an accomplished Szechuan restaurant. In basic surrounds with paper tablecloths & red lanterns, the mainly Chinese clientele takes its pick from excellent barbecued meats as well as traditional spicy Szechuan dishes. The likes of hot & spicy beef stomach, dried & hot pigs’ trotters, stir-fried gourd & dan dan noodles are certainly not for the faint-hearted. Service is speedy, though the brightly lit space won’t encourage you to linger.
