La Collina

Named after its Primrose Hill location (collina is Italian for hill), this cosy joint has managed to make a success out of a site that has seen off a fair few restaurants over the years. Although it’s spread over two floors, ask to dine upstairs – or in the little back garden during the summer – otherwise it can feel as if you’re eating in the open kitchen. The regional cooking is influenced by hearty dishes from Piedmont: slow-cooked meat, rich risottos & lots of game when in season – so you won’t catch any Primrose Hill skinny Minnies here. Highlights include roast pheasant with wild mushrooms & polenta & chestnut-flour pappardelle with wild boar ragu. The wine list offers the best of Italy with some rarely seen Piedmontese options.
