For a night out with sophisticated entertainment, you could do worse than head for Volupte. Its dark, sensual palette & shapely cocktails possess a glamour long gone from London night spots, as do the jazzy bits of live cabaret. The food, though basic, is better than you might expect. Stuffed baby artichokes make a good opening act, perhaps followed by duck breast & mash with cherry jus. That’s assuming you ever make it downstairs to dinner: you enter via an alluring bar where there are old movie clips to keep you & your Martini entertained.
