Verve’s mission is simple: to design a great West End night out for Miss Selfridge & her date of the evening. It provides a Hollyoaks-style lounge, as well as a basement club for those who want to groove, pose & play to the sound of throbbing funk & disco. Caipirinhas, monster vodkas, three-for-a-tenner shots & a happy hour until 8pm make the party happen & there are bubbles for less than £30 – cava to remind you of San Antonio last summer. Verve also lays on salsa Sundays, Wii for the boys & an all-day menu of pizzas, burgers, fish-finger sandwich & platters for peckish punters. What with spray-on dresses, spray-on tans & girlies on ga-ga colada, is it any wonder they have to employ stern greeters to repel over-ebullient males?
