Square Meal review of The Toucan:

Despite an interior that suggests this Oirish bothy predates the Great Potato Famine of 1845, this Soho young gun is a theme pub based on Dublin’s premier contribution to drinking culture, the mighty Guinness. Named after the beaky avian that has been the brand’s mascot since the 1930s, The Toucan is a great place to enjoy the craic over a few pints of the black stuff, served straight up or as Black Velvet (with Champagne) or Black Maria (with Tia Maria). Skip the dull ground-floor & head for the cluttered downstairs bar plastered in vintage advertising memorabilia. Also notable for its stellar range of Emerald Isle whisky: O’Kanagan, O’Patrick & 44-year-old Dungourney Special Reserve at £50 a pop. Added attractions are Celtic music & food like yer old ma’ in Donegal makes.
