Square Meal review of Cafe Zia:
The experienced chef-proprietor Manju Choudhury may charge a little more than his counterparts at other Indian restaurants, but the premium is reflected in superior food. Beyond the usual suspects such as tandoori mixed grill, chicken dansak & kormas, more fanciful dishes give cause for celebration & exploration. Specialties include scallops ajwani, which are marinated in spices & then grilled; a terrific Goan lobster curry cooked with fresh coconut & chillis; & a meltingly soft but mightily spiced mirchwala lamb shank. Wines have been well selected to suit the spicy food. If you can tolerate the fiery chillis but not the overwhelming redness of the room, try takeaway.
