Having endured a couple of years’ hard-drinking & partying, this style bar’s bright cube seats are looking worn & torn; its funky retro wallpaper dull & smudged. However the premature shabbiness has not kept the crowds from coming to drink, dance & party here. Cocktails are a strong point, with classic 1920s concoctions offered alongside a great selection of martinis & caipirinhas. Champagnes & beers are plentiful as well. Tortilla, patatas bravas, chorizo al vino & other Spanish tapas make up the eats. Arrive early or at weekends in summer to make use of the attractive decked garden & barbecue at the back: the noise-intolerant neighbours insist it’s closed by 7pm.
