The Diner Curtain Road

True to its name, this mini chain is unashamedly themed on an all-day American diner, from the neon signage to the banquettes, burgers & banana milkshakes. Luckily the food is up to the job. Breakfast at The Diner is quite an event – think blueberry pancakes, waffles with bacon & melted Swiss cheese or the cautiously approached morning grill of BBQ chicken, eggs & fries. Come the afternoon, the emphasis shifts to a mighty contingent of burgers (Mexican, Californian, Cajun spiced chicken & so on), alongside gut-busting sandwiches, corn dogs, ranch salads, burritos & other US icons. Drink cocktails, alcoholic milkshakes, stateside beers or something from the short wine list.
