Swirling chandeliers, scarlet walls, gilded ceilings & acres of Bollywood memorabilia (including plasma-screen TVs showing classic movies) give this two-storey Indian a touch of glamour that’s just the right side of kitsch. Owned by the team behind Tamarai below & Chor Bizarre in Mayfair, Sitaaray specialises in kebabs & grilled food. There’s no a la carte, but a good-value £18 set menu offers nine kebabs, three mini curries, dhal, rice, breads, chutneys & poppadums. Veg & seafood (£12 supplement) options are available & highlights include moist chunks of grilled chicken flavoured with mint & star anise, & creamy black lentil dhal makhani. The acclaimed wine list is compiled by writer Tim Atkin MW, though fresh & zingy cocktails are also suited to the spicy food.
