This is an attractively simple Japanese restaurant where service is helpful & friendly rather than formal & more is made of the freshness of the food than grand decor. Have a quick look at the sushi bar for fishy inspiration or stick to the Japanese classics of katsu-don, una-don & lovely tori nanba soba (boiled chicken in soup with soba noodles, which tastes better than it translates). Even after plenty of sake, the bill will be a pleasant surprise, particularly to those used to Japanese eateries in the centre of town.
