Square Meal review of Mimino:
Mimino means falcon in Georgian (which goes some way to explaining the presence of a stuffed bird in the corner of the dining room) &, while Georgian wine has long been famous, this is the place to acquaint yourself with the culinary delights that the former Soviet state has to offer, from the soft, oozing khachapuri cheese & egg bread to rich stews, a piquant borscht & khinkali – succulent meat dumplings that are held by the nib then tipped upside down to allow the juice to pour into the mouth. The superior selection of semi-sweet Georgian wines extends upwards from just £12 per bottle – best drunk from the stag antlers on the walls, as can happen when Georgian nationals are in.
