The King’s Cross arm of the Big Chill brand – which also boasts a summer festival & a record label – is a good call if you’re into music. Recently refurbished, it’s as funky as ever, with bold murals, a new basement dining area & plenty of cosy nooks. Pride of place, however, goes to the deck-spinners & DJs who play to an appreciative crowd (Wed-Sun). Matching the sounds is a fun-loving menu ranging from satisfying, built-to-order breakfast baps, waffles & rösti to stomach-lining burgers of every description; as for drinks, look for beers & English cider on tap, plus quaffable wines & fruity cocktails. The party spirit builds all day – although the feel-good vibe is especially strong in summer, when the decked rooftop terrace/beer garden comes into its own.
