The 2006 arrival of Via Condotti brought this already well-served corner of Mayfair something much needed: tip-top Italian food at affordable prices. Little wonder it hasn’t had a quiet day since, with regulars acclaiming its buzzy (if noisy) vibe, realistic prices & cooking that’s executed with gusto. Braised octopus with chickpeas or linguine with crab & courgette flower might precede a simple, flavoursome main of char-grilled wild sea bass with cannellini beans or rack of lamb with sweet green peppers & rosemary. Finish with a fruit-based dessert matched to something sticky from the all-Italian wine list. The waiters all display Italian charm & do their best to keep diners (particularly female ones) happy.
