What was Favela Chic has been renamed Favela London, but it has lost none of its infectious atmosphere along the way. High-ceilinged, & packed with religious icons, this temple to the caipirinha delivers shabby-chic funk in spades, with boho artefacts dotted all around & a range of live music & DJs on stage from Tuesday to Saturday. The venue also gets through a whopping 150kg of limes a week, but puts them to perfect use, serving up various exotic incarnations of caipirinhas, caipirovskas (made with vodka, not cachaça) & mojitos. If it all gets a bit steamy inside, the outdoor terrace is the ideal spot to try one of the recent additions to the drinks list. The food stays loyal to Brazil, & there’s a new afternoon tapas menu, too.
