Unfussy & clean, this favourite local has a stylish air, thanks to honey-coloured wood-block tables & plain walls enhanced with mirrors, but the lack of cloth & clutter makes for a noisy experience, especially during busy evening & weekend sessions. Favourite dishes, such as roghan josh & chicken tikka, are well executed & share menu space with more ambitious but equally good Afghani garlic prawns (with chilli & lime) & an eye-popping red chilli ice-cream. With plenty of interesting vegetarian choices & a bill that doesn’t hurt the wallet, it’s not surprising that this little gem is proving popular.
