Don’t be put off if this massive restaurant seems to look empty – that’s because the management has a habit of seating customers upstairs & out of view. Inside, there are dimly lit tables overlooking the river, & many private rooms designed for big parties. Lunchtime dim sum is an absolute treat: you’ll find plenty of familiar dishes like pork char siu, prawn & chive dumplings & spare ribs with black bean sauce, but it’s worth considering yam croquettes, shark’s fin dumpling in soup, or one of the scary dishes involving chicken’s feet. Dinner is a more formal affair – the huge menu has something for virtually everyone, but most non-Chinese stick to the usual set meals (including a vegan version) or the Chinese rotisserie specials.
