Competing with gorgeous views of Canary Wharf’s mini cityscape, Plateau’s recently refurbished, glass-encased bar has abandoned stainless steel & corporate-heavy attire for a dash of femininity in the shape of warm woods & rich colours. The casual menu pushes out international winners, such as Vietnamese smoked-chicken salad, artichoke ravioli & USDA steaks with triple-cooked chips, while a new selection of small plates adds an in-vogue touch (think pulled-pork mini-burgers). The drinks list holds a decent selection of Champagnes & wines, but mainly favours brandy & whisky – although exquisite cocktails such as the forbidden fruits (Tanqueray infused with fresh mint, mixed berries & vanilla syrup), are what the smartly attired crowd tends to prefer. When the mood (& weather) is right, take in the starry views on the coveted terrace.
