Square Meal review of The Big Chill:
Feel the love at this metropolitan offspring of the annual Big Chill festival in Herefordshire. The heated terrace is a place to nurse a draught Budvar or bottle of Moretti, while inside it’s urban-cosy: long wooden tables, exposed ducting & concrete beams sprayed with glitter – though it’s starting to feel a bit dated. The good-natured clientele includes T-shirted, just-back-from-Goa types, meejah upstarts & dressed-down City refugees. At night DJs play tunes that range from lounge music to dubby sounds & the atmosphere after dark is more manic than chilled. Platters, salads, burgers & pizza help soak up the alcohol, which runs to a choice of nine cocktails & a short choice of global wines. An occasional downside is slow service from staff taking the laid-back ethic too literally.
