Tucked away in the basement of a boutique hotel in Maida Vale suburbia, you’ll find an eclectic mix of businessmen, post-pub revellers & groups having a quiet drink. The bland hotel decor with various shades of cream & beige & cushioned banquettes is offset by a more creative approach to the food. Good-value tapas encompasses garlic chicken, cod & chickpea stew & red peppers stuffed with marinated partridge, which can be washed down with a refreshing Terrace Breeze (cucumber, elderflower cordial & Champagne). Global wines are well priced & house Champagne (Lanson Black Label) clocks in at £34.
