A hip bar with Celtic soul, Thai food & a shabby market street location. Confused? Don’t be. Anam is a find which is admired most for its dedication to drinks & its smoother-than-Baileys ambience. A retro 60s look with a cool cream & brown colour scheme prevails on the ground floor while the womb-like downstairs, ablaze with bordello red, is where the party gets going. Cocktails like the knock-your-socks off Dr Strangelove (bourbon, sake, port & Tuaca topped with caramel) are the business. DJs play funky house at weekends when gaining access might involve paying £5 admission.
