Square Meal review of May Fair Bar:
The attractive art deco-style aquamarine & jet black bar, the centrepiece of this revamped lounge, dispenses superior cocktails to a mix of residents & a youngish after-work crowd. French 75, Sazerac & Manhattan are smart orders, but there’s also Sex On The Beach, if you’ve invited the office junior along. Heading off to a swanky do? Then it has to be a Black Thai (Smirnoff Black, basil leaves, lime & orange topped with lemonade) from a list of over 40 cocktails, many created in house. A den area with low purple divans & roaring log fires has an Asian chill-out vibe, but beats are seriously funky. Drinks hover around the £10 mark & a seasonal menu served tapas-style is a bonus for peckish May Fair ladies.
