Tangiers-style hawkers are unlikely to hassle you in upmarket W1, but if you fancy the fittings at Mô Tea Room, then haggle away – they’re all for sale. Momo’s little brother is filled to capacity with beaten copper tables, exotic carpets, antique lanterns, glassware, music (on CD) & gaily coloured pouffes. Order mint tea & mocktails, raspberry & vanilla Bellinis or Marrakech o’ Marrakech (Pampero Especial rum, mint & lemon juice charged with Pommery Champagne) from a snappy drinks menu that also includes Moroccan red & easy-drinking Guerrouane (£19) on an otherwise French-leaning wine list. Mezze & tarts satisfy any hunger pangs. Smoking flavoured shisha (a tobacco & treacle mix) from hookah pipes is a fun diversion; you’ll have to indulge on the pavement terrace, but its low-slung seats are the best in the house.
