Square Meal Review of The Audley ?

This late-Victorian revivalist local on the corner of Mayfair’s swanky ‘high street’ (home of Louboutin, Marc Jacobs, Balenciaga & Lanvin, with not a Poundland in sight) once entertained Michelle Obama. She popped in unannounced with the kids (after half the FBI had gone over it with a fine toothcomb, no doubt) & sat down to a plate of fish & chips. By contrast, The Audley’s usual crowd is everyone from white-van man to the sort of chap more commonly found at Black’s. Sit in the spacious red & gold-hued interior to sample a range of cask ales (St Austell Tribute, Wadworth 6X to name but two) & ‘divine wines’, along with some trad English pub food & sharing plates; otherwise take advantage of the outdoor seating under parasols (heaters supplied).

went here last night with girlfriend and her family – initially found staff o.k-ish until i discovered a fly in my full pint of guiness, went to barman and asked to change and another older guy told him to take the head of and refill as i wasnt looking – saw what he was up to and told him i wudnt drink it and then the older barman started quizzing whats wrong with it, theres only a fly to the top of it and that it was my fault for going outside and getting a fly then in my drink. i didnt even go outside i told him and then he replied “we cant be expected to keep flies out of drinks in the bar” – thought this guy was seriously taking the mick then so i asked him would he drink it and he replied "folk do where i come from. reported to manager later on who apologised for his idiot member of staff – told him we wud never go back in the place and will advise anyone else to stay clear also – what a complete joke
