Raoul’s is a well-known name among ladies who brunch in London’s smartest ‘W’ postcodes. This group of versatile café/restaurants (with traiteur/delis in Hammersmith & the original Maida Vale branch) plunders the Mediterranean brasserie repertoire for the sunny, sometimes healthy, sometimes naughty food that it serves from breakfast through to late suppertime. Eggs Benedict is the default order in the morning, though kippers, Greek yoghurt with honey & nuts, a frittata or even one of Raoul’s juices or smoothies would make a good choice too. As for the rest of the day, the menu balances the likes of salade niçoise & asparagus fettuccine with more robust main courses such as burgers, steaks & daily specials. The wine list offers plenty of sub-£30 European bottles.
