YO! Sushi Fulham

Still as bright & funky as ever, Yo! Sushi remains a jolly place to graze on little plates of raw fish & rice. Well-drilled staff will talk you through the array of buttons, taps & boxes on your table – this one to summon help, that one to fill up on water – all of which add to the theatre. An early pioneer of conveyor-belt sushi, the kaiten is loaded with a rainbow of dishes, each at a different price. Sadly these ready-mades can sometimes be rather wilted, so it pays to go for freshly prepared specials: beef tataki comes with a punchy coriander & chilli paste, while its sea bass equivalent is more delicate, pointed up with shredded ginger & a light ponzu dressing. Bookend this with unlimited miso soup (£2) & a fruit plate, then exit via the takeaway counter, where workers queue for good-value bento boxes.
