The eclectic modern decor, relaxed atmosphere & fresh fish counter are all hallmarks of the Lewis & Clarke chain, but the X-factor at this slick & glassy outpost is its location on the ground & mezzanine levels of 30 St Mary Axe (aka the Gherkin) & a roomy terrace which spreads across the traffic-free piazza in summer. The wine list is organised by style with masses of affordable drinking by the glass, though if you’ve sold the family silver or have a bonus to blow, there’s Krug Grand Cuvee.
