Having occupied this corner site for close to 30 years, Luigi’s is not about to change its ways. The traditional menu of this welcoming Italian restaurant encompasses pastas, fish & meat dishes, sticking to time-honoured classics such as linguini with clams, veal escalope ‘alla milanese’ & grilled Dover sole. Friendly host Gennaro is on hand to guide your selections, & is happy to accommodate requests for smaller portions, or tweaks to certain dishes. A good-value two-course set menu (lunch Monday to Saturday, dinner Monday to Thursday) offers slight variations on the à la carte favourites. The decor appears to have changed little in three decades, with bentwood chairs, colourful floor tiles & modern Italian art bringing a simple yet stylish feel to this neighbourhood eatery.
