Square Meal Review of Floridita (bar) ?

Homage to the legendary Havana nightspot, fun-packed Floridita pulls off its 1930s’ glam supperclub/late-night cocktail lounge à la Perez Prado with brio. ‘Shake that Ting’ (£9) describes the mood on a high-octane dancefloor, & the sexy room is a tropical heatwave – so cool down with an inspired range of daiquiris & ‘yeh baby!’ margaritas. Superior rummy rinses call at all ports Caribbean: snap up Pyrat Cask 23, Martinique’s 1955 J Bally (no tourist trinket at £100) or Cuban heroes el presidente & nacional – otherwise live dangerously with the cigar lover’s martini (a smoking gun primed with Akvinta vodka, dry vermouth, Lagavulin & tobacco bitters). The wine list is entertaining, & snacks range from a quintet of burgers to tapas such as anchovy crostini, yucca fries & suckling pig with lime.

Don't ever bother booking this venue for a party or birthday party or you will end up being highly disappointed. This is what happened on a saturday night where we book a table to enjoy an exotic evening in 7 of us and celebrate a friend's birthday.
The restaurant was fully booked and staff should have been well trained for this sort of situation.
This was the worst service and night out that I ever experienced in my entire life; they forgot about my cake order and on top of it; it did not even display the message that I requested well in advance. In addition our drinks and cocktails never reached our table ( we drunk one bottle of champagne on the whole evening!) and if we weren't attentive at our final bill we would have had ended up paying for those drinks that never came! BEWARE!!!

I visited Floridita for the second time last night. Again a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I was out with a group for a few drinks, i ended up staying all night!!! A great bar/ restaurant for groups of people, to chat, dance, drink, drink and yes I am aware I put two drinks because they are damned good!! The best drinks venue in London as far as im concerned!
