Whether you park up in the Den, the Snug, the Crystal Lounge or the Balcony – variations on a vaguely ‘nu-Edwardian theme’ – The Warwick is pleasant enough if not exactly ‘out there’. Shoot the breeze with the boys or gossip up a storm over Pinot Grigio rosé. Otherwise, a ripe fruity Rioja (at around £20) is mid-point on a balanced, if unchallenging list that also offers Cristal at a whopping £250. Cocktails include Dick Bradsell’s now-legendary bramble, while other classics such as mai tai & Long Island iced tea reach even further back into the annals of mixology. Lunch brings sarnies, salads, burgers & pubby mains, while evening menus promise Thai green curry, coronation chicken bloomers or asparagus, spinach & ricotta tortellini; also note the tapas deal (three for £10).
