Popular with an upmarket after-work/post-shopping crowd, Cocoon also draws social butterflies, who dance to uplifting house beats until 3am at its popular Late Lounge weekend nights. Billowing gauze drapes break up a papaya & lemongrass-toned space into a series of intimate pods with petal-filled Perspex tables. The hub is a luminescent resin bar that suggests a futuristic sci-fi movie. Sake & shochu form the base for cocktails such as the Japanese Mule (like a Moscow Mule but with fresh ginger & coriander) while a range of Champagne cocktails, fruit coolers & martinis that includes a delightful saké, rose water & rose-petal option are well worth a flutter. There’s Asahi & Kirin Ichiban for blokes who prefer beer. Prices are West End average, though be aware that bar snacks such as dim sum, caviar, oysters & choccy desserts can bump up the bill.
