Blink & you might be back in Happy Days – this 50s-style bowling alley/diner would make the Fonz feel right at home. Surroundings are bright & cheery, with splashes of ketchup red & mustard yellow echoing the Heinz & French’s found in the booths. The menu is unashamedly retro, too, touting buffalo wings with creamy blue cheese sauce ahead of Texas chilli or rich mac & cheese, washed down with milkshakes or mai tais. For something lighter, plump for pastrami on sourdough or a Caesar salad. ASL is also a family brunch favourite, with breezy staff dishing up buttermilk pancakes, eggs ‘any style’ & fried chicken with sweet potato fries. The cooking won’t knock your bobby socks off, but if you’re here for a good time, give the thumbs-up & say ‘ayyy’.
