With Ruby bar & restaurant upstairs & Sequoia dance bar below, this is the sort of all-day party hangout every happening neighbourhood should have. Most notable for its very chic interiors – cream banquettes & flock wallpaper in Ruby, black tiling, wood panelling & Perspex tables in Sequoia – there’s plenty of substance behind the style, with a reasonably priced modern European menu offering Cornish salad followed by rump of lamb with crushed potatoes & weekend brunches of eggs any which way. To drink, there’s a kindly priced cocktail list alongside a short wine list offering a greatest hits of global grapes. DJs get an up-for-it local crowd dancing until the early hours.
