Cooking is theatre at this chic Indian restaurant, where diners can watch chefs skewer succulent kebabs & slap velvety naans on the tandoor through the glass-fronted kitchen. It doesn’t just look good: from the table settings & great whisky selection, to the execution & presentation of what fans say is ‘some of the best Indian food in London’, every detail is well thought out. Starters might include spicy tandoori stuffed potatoes with yoghurt & tamarind chutney or sweet Devon crab cakes with tender carom-crusted turbot & summer berry chutney. Seafood-inspired mains include luscious king prawns simmered in coconut & curry leaf sauce, while more traditional dishes such as dhal & chicken tikka masala are just as good. The downstairs room is popular for larger groups, & whisky cocktails at the slinky bar are a must.
