Bar Music Hall

A vast & fashion-hungry venue, Bar Music Hall stages an array of tuneful events – from DJ nights & live gigs to Brazilian dance & trance metal, although there’s a broadly electronic undercurrent to the soundtrack. Likewise, the beers are a cosmopolitan bunch, with Bernard Pilsner from the Czech Republic on draught & Mexican Pacifico in bottles; Belgium dominates, with a formidable collection including Steendonk & Maredsous Dark, Duvel & Vedett. Cocktails feature Polish punch (Zubrówka vodka, demerara sugar & melon liqueur) & there’s also a limited choice of reasonably priced wines. Line your stomach with a chilli burger, grilled haloumi & vegetable skewer, or a platter of dips & pitta bread from the short but versatile menu. There’s also a specials board (‘to suit the weather that day’). Boisterous in the evening, the bar is surprisingly relaxed before night falls.
