Big, blowsy Bar Music Hall illustrates neatly the contrast between day & night in the Shoreditch triangle. By night it’s a cavernous, clubby place, pulling in a young, music-focused crowd, yet by day it couldn’t be more tranquil, its sunny terrace a prized rarity in this neck of the woods & a fine spot for trendy local professionals to linger with only a laptop for company. Belgian beer has always been the mainstay of the drinks list & with Steendonk & Fruli Strawberry on draught & Duvel or Liefman’s Kriek in bottles the selection is as eclectic as ever; bottles on the short wine list all creep in under the £20 mark & there’s an equally short cocktail list. Food embraces all day salads, burgers & grills; the weekend brunch keeps suitably louche hours, continuing until 5pm.
