Those who complain that this establishment is more a restaurant than a pub have a point: its elevated & complicated cooking & high-end wine list could put many quality restaurants to shame. Starters may include a quartet of fat, juicy scallops served with a deconstructed gazpacho or a beautifully flavoured pumpkin ravioli with sage & parmesan. Barbary duck breast with foie gras, sweet potato puree & roast peppers or wild sea bass with leek, beetroot & peas might be among the winning mains chosen by the crowd of City types who frequent The Greyhound.

Wine List: Prices have risen but this is still an exceptional list created by a passionate wine lover. There is vast choice under £25, masses by the glass & while you can drink great bottles from the classic areas this is a place to come & discover something from Croatia or unusual Australian producers.
