Square Meal Review of Lucio ?

Chelsea has more than its share of tasteful, much-loved Italians, but Lucio remains a solid bet. The tell-tale signs of an upmarket trattoria are all here: framed black-&-white photos of glamorous women from Audrey Hepburn to Brigitte Bardot, comfortably padded chairs, lots of light & a subtle colour scheme (in this case muted rusts & greens). They set the scene perfectly for a seasonal menu that blends elements of old & new Italy: expect traditional dishes such as beef carpaccio or veal milanese alongside more modish offerings like creamy burrata with grilled vegetables or deep-fried courgette flowers filled with goats’ cheese & fresh peas. The homemade pasta is a must, & prices are about right for the area, especially with such charming service.

We have been a number of times for a quiet dinner, family get together and even our daughter's christening. Every time it's been great. Thank-you.

We had a wonderful evening at Lucio. The restaurant has a buzzy and smart atmosphere without being stuffy. The decor is simple and contemporary but does not feel cold. The staff were friendly and attentive without being in-your face. I had tuna steak which was was cooked to perfection, my friend sea bass which he really enjoyed too. Good selection of italian wines. This is a great choice for an intimate dinner, a family occasion or even business, probably not a place to go with a loud group of friends . Would highly recommend a visit.
