A swish Italian outfit done out in neutral tones, with neatly-laid tables, black & white portraits on the walls, charming staff & good food to boot. The menu, though organised in traditional Italian style with antipasti, paste, pesci & carni, is contemporary in inspiration & choice of ingredients, & execution is sound. A meal might kick off with beetroot salad with farro & walnut oil or homemade fettucine with mascarpone, rocket & Parma ham, followed by roast duck breast with myrtle berry & blueberry sauce & celeriac cake, with limoncello semifreddo to finish. There’s a varied range of Italian wines to wash it all down with.
