Huge windows & the similarly huge floor mean this clean & stylish space is airy by day & well able to pack them in by night. Later in the week the basement lounge bar adds a clubby edge with a changing roster of DJ nights & live gigs. Cocktails put a contemporary twist on the classics: the Mojitini mixes Bacardi with mint, fresh lime, gomme & Champagne while the Woodford Old Fashioned is named after the bourbon rather than the Essex suburb. The wine list is short & Italianate with almost everything available by the glass; the beer selection will cheer Kronenbourg fans & there are tapas, snacks & sharing plates to take the edge of the booze. More substantial fare is available in the adjoining restaurant.
