Formerly Hokkien-Chan, Sri Thai City is bedevilled by a rather unlovely London Wall location, but once you’re in & down the stairs, things improve considerably. The striking, if dimly lit dining room is handsomely decked out in dark wood with floral-print banquettes, while the Thai-dominant menu also gives a nod to China. Expect the usual assortment of stir-fries, curries, noodle & rice dishes, as well as Chinese-influenced options such as crispy squid with sweet & sour sauce or sliced beef with oyster sauce & green beans. There are also some good-value set deals if you don’t feel like ploughing through the full menu. The colourfully categorised wine list is well worth a look, particularly as it includes some offbeat, spice-friendly selections such as a 2010 Laurenz V Grüner Veltliner (£28).
