Square Meal review of Octave:
This American-style restaurant/bar serves up swanky cocktails with a side of live jazz. Strictly speaking, we prefer a Manhattan with our Miles & Coltrane, but a signature Mojito or a Caipirinha will suit an Astrud Gilberto moment. There’s a useful wine list, bottled beers & either full dining (tender char-grilled scallops with smoky pancetta-braised lentils) or snacks such as mezze platters, tempura & spring rolls. Polished wood, washed brick, leather booths, New England tones & monochrome portraits of Blue Note legends create an upmarket supper lounge look. Live music is now nightly & you might just be lucky enough to catch visiting stars Harry Connick Jr or Diana Krall.
