Square Meal review of Bengal Quay:
Bengal Quay’s location under the tracks of the DLR station near South Quay may not inspire much confidence, but rest assured that this Indian restaurant serves up acceptable renditions of familiar curry favourites. The usual suspects of chicken korma, lamb Madras & king prawn biryani are all here, but for something slightly more interesting it’s best to turn to the ‘chef’s recommendations’ page, where options include a hot & spicy Goan prawn curry served in a coconut shell. Despite press cuttings of visits from tabloid regulars splashed around the walls, the clientele is a resolutely local mix of office workers & residents.
