Bar Soho’s in-demand outside tables offer a grandstand view of Old Compton Street’s lively passeggiata. Indoors, the flagstone floors & Hispanic wrought-iron & red theme make the place feel cool in high summer & cosy on dank winter nights. Bar Soho attracts exchange students, tourists, shoppers & theatre-goers. It’s neither cutting edge nor cliquey, with a good-natured & occasionally boisterous ambience. The food offer is safe & unadventurous, including suburban faves such as buffalo wings, loaded potato skins & baked Brie. Drinks are reasonably priced: £15 secures a decent Chianti, with iced teas at £7.20 & Mai Tais at £6.60.
