With its 50s-era paintings of the Queen & Elvis Presley hanging on dark wood walls, a rug-strewn floor & the sort of mismatched cutlery & crockery that Cath Kidston has built a career from flogging, Rosa’s sounds like just another exercise in west London irony. A surprise, then, to find that the homely touches all feel entirely authentic & that the atmosphere of unpretentious comfort extends to a menu that mixes up Notting Hill favourites of grilled squid or lobster & chips to the more trad likes of new season lamb or one of the ever-popular homemade pies. Pavlova with lime mascarpone provides a sweet finish to an appropriately rosy experience at this cherished locals’ local.
