China Delight

There have been changes of late at this sprawling City Chinese. Following the demise of the minimalist Wagamama-style canteen & its separate entrance from Mark Lane, all eyes now focus on the opulent dining room facing Minster Pavement, where Chinese watercolours & heavy, hand-crafted wooden furniture provide a traditional backdrop for a menu of Chinese chart-toppers at reasonable prices. Start with sesame prawn toast or crispy seaweed before considering scallops in black bean sauce or perhaps a plate of crispy aromatic duck with pancakes & accompaniments. There’s also a short selection of veggie-friendly beancurd dishes & assorted stir-fries. Devotees will be pleased to learn that China Delight’s renowned buffet lunches are still going strong.
