At one point during its nearly 30-year lifespan, Camden Brasserie was a prime gastronomic choice in NW1. But after a change of ownership & location it has lost some of its culinary prowess. Steak remains the favourite dish: entrecote, fillet or a rib for two to share, served with excellent thin-cut chips & béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. There’s no beef with the beef, but the rest of the menu reads like that of an international hotel: think goats’ cheese salad, spaghetti with prawns, salmon with hollandaise & a fairly standard tiramisu for dessert. The wine list also fails to break boundaries, though there are several options by the glass. On the plus side, the spacious dining room is pleasantly airy & modern, & the waiters work hard for their tips.
Travel to Camden Brasserie in style with London's leading minicab firm Addison Lee.
